  1. Scholarships How can Desert Mountain students find some of that FREE money to help pay for college?

The WHO, WHAT and WHERE of Scholarship Searching • There are lots of organizations that give scholarship dollars • The National Center for Education Statistics reports there are 750,000 scholarships earmarked for qualified students, totaling $1.2 billion. Much of that money comes from US Government. see FAFSA • There are different kinds of scholarships, be smart and look for the ones that you have the best chance of getting • Where do you start?

  3. Who gives money • # 1 place to look for scholarship dollars is from the COLLEGE or UNIVERSITY. • Do the research! Find out about how the scholarship process works at the ALL the schools you are applying to

  4. Merit Scholarships for Freshmen Lumberjack - 100% Tuition 3.5 unwtgpa in 16 CORE ACADEMIC CORE COURSE # A’s = #B’s Only retake 1 course. No test Scores, NO Cs/Ds February deadline for transcript submission President’s - $8,000 per academic year Minimum 3.50 unweighted core GPA or higher in the 16 core Minimum 19 ACT Composite or 990 SAT combined Math&Reading Dean’s- $5,000 per academic year 3.0-3.49 unweighted core GPA in the 16 core courses 19 ACT Composite or 990 SAT combined Math and Reading score IB Scholarship - $5,000 extra combinable /min of 24 pts for IB Diploma
