  1. Shahzad Pirzada MNS 500 Low Air System Helps in Both Cure and Prevention of Pressure Ulcer

  2. • Pressure ulcers, also known as bedsores, are injuries on the skin formed by friction produced by the surface on which the skin is in contact. Coccyx, knees, heels, hips, and sacrum are the some of the most common type of body parts affected by pressure ulcers. • In the following section, we shall look at some of the unique and one of its kind devices that could greatly help in prevention and cure of pressure ulcers. 1. MNS 500 Alternating Pressure Relief System • Shahzad PirzadaMNS 500 low air system is a device that could immensely help in prevention and cure of pressure ulcers.

  3. • It’s a mattress with a unique technology called alternate pressure relief system. Designed for your utmost comfort, this mattress keeps changing the contact points at the same time gently massaging your skin. • This is highly effective, as the skin in continuous touch with the mattress or other surface generally results in restricted flow of blood, which leads to formation of sores and wounds. • This mattress is designed in a way that ensures that the skin is not in contact with the surface for a long interval. This reduces friction and enhances flow of blood, thereby preventing any damage to skin tissues.

  4. • The Genadyne’s Low Air Loss System is a portable mattress that provides the twin benefit of reducing the stress and pressure on the skin along with keeping the skin’s moisture intact. Some of the major benefits of this therapy mattress system are as following:  Cell Flotation: This mattress is constructed with eight inches of cell floatation, which results in effective pain management. It redistributes patient’s body pressure, which provides relief from ulcer pains and formation of pressure ulcers.  Extended air flow capacity: This mattress is capable of pumping 125 liters per minute of fresh dry air. This is very important, as moisturized air hastens the process of tissue damages. Dry air, on the other hand, prevents the growth of tissue damaging bacteria.

  5.  Waterproof: Pressure ulcers are formed when the skin is in long contact with the surface of the mattress. This happens as the movement of the patient is restricted due to some illness or injury.  Daily chores as such are performed on the bed. Water is bound to fall on the mattress despite utmost precautions. A water proof mattress is not a luxury but an utmost necessity under such circumstances.  Vapor Permeable Technology: This technology results in formation of low friction surface. Needless to mention, low friction will lead to better distribution of pressure and enhanced blood flow to the soft tissues. • Shahzad Pirzada MNS 500 low air system has a host of other advanced features as well. It comes equipped with a CPR valve for quick emergency air release and three pump options in case there is a need for quick air filling.

  6. 2. Conclusion • Pressure ulcers occur due to pressure applied to soft tissue, resulting in completely or partially obstructed blood flow to the soft tissue. • Injuries suffered, owing to accidents, are the most common cause of pressure ulcers, as the patient is no position to move freely and is usually confined to bed or wheelchair. • Pressure ulcers are also formed by skin wetness, protein malnutrition, and diseases that reduce blood flow to the skin or diseases that diminish skin sensation.

  7. • The best way to treat pressure ulcer is by distributing the pressure by not allowing the patient to remain in the same position for a long time. • Shahzad PirzadaMNS 500 low air system works both ways. It effectively redistributes pressure by continuously changing the contact point of the skin with the mattress and keeping the surface dry.
