6 Steps to Get Back on Track

You planned for this year to be different. You told family and friends this year would be THE year. You started strong in January; you held fast in February and you overcame March's minor setback. You were doing well, then you had to slow down in April and some things got postponed in May. It's now summertime and you're not sure what's going on for the rest of the year. Don't be dismayed. It's not too late to get back on the road to success for this year.

  3. 1. Check your calendar  Review your schedule before you say yes  It’s okay to say, “I have to check my calendar first” Goal: avoid double-booking, which costs more time when you to reschedule

  4. 2. Manage your time  You do not have to do everything and be everywhere  It’s definitely okay to say, “no,” “not now,” or “maybe later” Goal: control of your time, do not let your time control you

  5. 3. Remember the necessities  Breathe, eat and rest  Every timeslot on your calendar does not need to be filled Goal: listen to your body, eat healthy meals and take time to rejuvenate your mind and soul

  6. 4. Prioritize your agenda  Align your schedule with your goals  If the task doesn’t move you closer to the finish line, how important is it? Goal: let your calendar be a tool for your success

  7. 5. Go to your happy place  Take mental breaks throughout the day  A short stroll around the block to visualize your happy place can bring calm in the midst of the storm Goal: reduce stress, lower blood pressure and prevent wrinkles with micro-mental vacations

  8. 6. Outsource non-essential functions  Hire people to do the simpler things for you  Time is your most valuable resource, don’t let your schedule get bogged down with menial tasks Goal: free up time for family, friends and important tasks

  9. You can be organized, productive and have a life… as long as you make time for it.

  10. You have time to accomplish your goals for the year. Get going!
