  1. Ice Hockey Hong Kong By Thomas Wong

  2. Skating techniques We Started on basic technique skating e.g. gliding, plough stop and turning. Then moved on to more advanced techniques e.g. sharp turns, crossover turns, hockey stops and backward skating. Finally we had power skating drills e.g. V-start, Crossover start and explosive acceleration.

  3. Stick Handling and shooting We started on stationary stick handling. Then carrying the puck in motion and passing to each other. On day 3 we started shooting using the wrist shot, we even had a goalie at the end.

  4. The best thing about the trip “We had the whole ice rink to ourselves every morning!” “ We have a fun game at the end of everyday and on the whole of the last day!” “The pizza party on the last day where Mr. Jabal bought 15 pizzas!!!”

  5. The hardest thing about the trip Many of us agreed that the hardest skating technique was learning the hockey stop.

  6. IB learner profile: Risk-takers This activity best reflect the Risk-takers aspect of the IB learner profile as many of us were beginners in ice skating and had to approach the unfamiliar situations and uncertainty in ice hockey.

  7. The End!
