What is Gainful employment (ge)? • 2011 regs struck down by court in June 2012 • Final rules published for the second time in the fall of 2014, effective 07/01/15 • All short term/non-degree programs at all schools and all programs at proprietary schools. • Disclose and report data on GE programs • Student level data for those who received Title IV aid • Program, begin/end date, status at the end of the year (enrolled, withdrawn, graduated) • Financial data including amount of tuition/fees, books, debt owed to institution • Due annually by October 1st • Six aid years (catch up) were due July 31, 2015

  4. Product development group bio • Almost 40 participants • 15 institutions (public, private, 2 year, 4 year) • Various roles • Financial Aid • IT • Registrar • Non-technical and technical focused • Level of participation varied

Time commitment • Meetings prior to release • 30-60 minute phone calls • Kick off in March • Monthly meetings for March, April, May • Five meetings in June • Meeting day before release in July • Follow up and second phase • Three meetings in August • One meeting in September before release • Testing – Average 2-4 hours per week during June
