  2. FCSOA Use of Ratings • Only Certified Referees are assigned games. • Varsity games require the most qualified (skilled and knowledgeable) referees. • Assigning referees with varying qualifications provides an environment for referees to improve their qualification

  3. Initial Referee Rating*** *** A new referee will be assigned as a 500 unless there is additional information available to support a higher evaluation. The above criteria will be used as the starting point for making the initial evaluation.

  4. Rating of FCSOA Referees Referee Rating Committee • Dan Sobieski, Chairman • Mike Holguin • Guadalupe Antimo • Fifth member – currently open

  5. FCSOA Referees Rating Cycle? • At least one time per year, following the current season. • The goal is to rate two times per year. The first rating will be following pre-season tournament period and the second rating will be following the current season.

  6. What Information Is Used to Rate Referees? • Formal assessments during the season that have been arranged through the Assessment Chairman. • Assessments requested by an individual referee through Assessment Chairman. • Informal observations by the Referee Rating Committee members. • Input from coaches using the Referee Feed Back form to Assessment Chairman.

  7. FCSOA Referee Rating Records • The Rating Committee presents their recommended referee ratings to the FCSOA Executive Board. • The FCSOA Executive Board reviews, may modify, approves and provides a copy of the Referee Ratings to the FCSOA Assignor. • Ranking Committee updates records for current year.
