  3. What is Released Time?

  4. It is time during the school day that is “released” to parents in order to accommodate their religious beliefs.

  5. Why Do Students Need Released Time? • Students develop and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. • Public schools provide the mental and physical development, but are prohibited from addressing spiritual subjects on campus during the school day.

  6. Why Do Students Need Released Time? • Spiritual issues can be addressed during released time. • It provides the moral and spiritual foundations that students need to combat the negative peer pressures they encounter at school.

  7. Why Do Students Need Released Time? • It provides positive peer support among their friends as they provide encouragement to one another about the lessons learned together in released time, holding each other accountable to those standards.
