  1. Hunting Is Often Promoted Among The Youth Hunters and hunting enthusiasts normally grow up among likeminded people, people who enjoy hunting and practice the activity as a profession, or as a favorite pastime people such as their parents for example This happens everywhere in the world – in Africa, Europe, Canada, the UK and the US. From an early age, the youth gets exposed to the activity, and those that enjoy the experience are most likely the ones that will represent the next generation of hunters. In a country such as the US, for example, many families – father, mother and children – take part in the activity, and therefore it is very likely that kids that grow up with parents that love hunting, will enjoy it too, as their parents will instill in them the same love and passion for the activity. They get exposed to weapons at a young age and are taught to respect them, but not to fear, they are taught about the outdoors, the different topography and being around hunters, horses and hunting dogs early on – even if they are city kids. It is part of growing up for many, and they later progress into adulthood having been taught how to be hunters and enjoy the sport. There are certain states in countries such as the US where kids accompany their parents or other grownups on hunts from a young age, such as parts of the Southeast where Alabama – and others such as Virginia and

  2. Georgia – are often preferred regions for some great hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, quail and other wingshoot opportunities. And, of course, certain lodges stand out above others as well for their choices in terms of the animals and birds you can hunt there, as well as for offering comfortable accommodations during one’s stay. All of this combine to ensure that hunting parties and their kids are given great options in terms of hunting good quality animals. The best animals for the hunt will always be raised in a well managed habitat, normally under the watchful eye of a good, experienced manager with the knowledge and expertise to make sure animals have access to good food and water sources. The youth are also taught these principles as they grow up in an environment that knows it is important to look after the habitat and the animals that are to be hunted. Of course, children can be taught about hunting by someone other than the parent, for instance when they go for instruction with an experienced professional that eases kids into the activity by teaching them about weapons and ammunition, the different disciplines such as deer hunting, or bird hunting – or even activities such as, say, skeet. There are many opportunities to develop a love for hunting and related activities among kids, and if they are exposed to a good habitat – at a leading hunting lodge – they will quickly understand what the ethos is, how to behave, how to choose their favorite discipline. Parents that are looking for instruction for their kids will always find good information from a club they belong to, or from a hunting lodge, or from hunting organisations that promote youth hunting among both boys and girls. Certain wildlife management areas, for example, offer youth hunt days before the season starts to either teach them from scratch or to brush up on already acquired skills. Parents can look these up in the press or on the internet. This applies to many disciplines whether the kids want to hunt buck or any of a number of birds such as quail, waterfowl – also turkey. Good lodges also promote the idea of youth hunting and they welcome these young hunters when the program allows, since they know these kids are their clients of the future.
