  7. Parents Should Understand Parents of Special Needs Students • Their child will receive one on one time • All teachers will know background and will be educated in disability • Students will benefit from inclusion for a lifetime Parents of Non disabled Students • Their child will not be effected in a negative way by the inclusion • Teacher will insure learning and safety for all student • Students will benefit from inclusion for a lifetime

  9. “The fundamental principle of inclusive education is the valuing of diversity within the human community.... When inclusive education is fully embraced, we abandon the idea that children have to become "normal" in order to contribute to the world.... We begin to look beyond typical ways of becoming valued members of the community, and in doing so, begin to realize the achievable goal of providing all children with an authentic sense of belonging.” (Kunc 1992, pp. 38-3

  10. Inclusion • Is part of a bigger picture in life • Means everyone is welcomed and embraced • Does not occur overnight • Provides education in classroom with peers for all students • Considers that all students are members of school community • Requires teachers to find ways to make education work for all students
