  1. BMW BayerischeMotorenWerke AG (English: Bavarian Motor Works), commonly known as BMW or BMW AG, is a German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company founded in 1916.BMW is headquartered in Munich, Bavaria. It also owns and produces Mini cars, and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. BMW produces motorcycles under BMW Motorrad. In 2012, the BMW Group produced 1,845,186 automobiles and 117,109 motorcycles across all of its brands. BMW is part of the "German Big 3" luxury automakers, along with Audi and Mercedes-Benz, which are the three best-selling luxury automakers in the world.

  2. Objective • Students will be able to form questions in German using the inverted word order, and identify definite articles.

  3. Definite Article (Nominative) • In German there are three variations of the definite article “the” in the nominative singular, der, die and das. • The nominative is used to identify the subject of the sentence. Ex. Der Jungeistsiebzehn. Die Frau wohntnichtsehrweit von hier. Das Telefonist da drüben.

  5. Definite Article (Nominative) • It is extremely important to learn the articles that accompany the individual nouns. We refer to these as masculine (der), feminine (die) and neuter (das). Be aware, however, that the nouns associated with either of the three articles are not necessarily “masculine” or “feminine” or “neuter” by context – the article for a man’s tie (die Krawatte) is feminine, while a woman’s scarf (der Schal) is masculine
