  12. Details • Hello, I’m Brooke, and we’ve decided to do the Dhole(Cuon Alpinus) also known as the Whistling Hunter. • The Dhole is a medium sized dog with a red brown coat and a black tipped tail. It’s head and body length is 90 cm. It’s weight is 15-20 lbs. • The Dhole usually lives in a dry Deciduous forest and moist tropical rain forest. It also lives in meadows and Coniferous forests. It can be found in South Siberia, Central Asia, India, and Indochina. • The humans hunt the Dhole to prove they are a fast hunter and the Dhole eats the dogs, rabbits, wild sheep, spotted deer, and sambar deer. All the animals either eat a plant or get their energy from the animals. • The Dhole has babies in Seb-Feb in Central and Northern India. Their gestation is 60-62 days and their lactation is at least 8 weeks. Their litter is as big as 8-9 but a 3-4 litter is more common.

  13. The Dhole became endangered on July 2,1970. It is endangered because of habitat destruction, humans stealing their food, and competing for food and water with other animals. • The ways of saving a Dhole are setting up sanctuaries and since studies on the Dhole are little, not much more can be done for them.
