  5. Homework • Read 30 minutes each night • Take Accelerated Reader assessments over books read • Reach goal each grading period for AP points earned

  6. Tests & Quizzes • Tests will be over stories, skills, and novels. • Students will be informed about tests well ahead of time • Quizzes will cover skills, vocabulary, and comprehension

  7. Class Work • Vocabulary work • Comprehension checks • Thinking map exercises • Activities to learn FCAT 12

  8. Notebook • Bell work from each day student has attended • Vocabulary for stories, articles, and novels • Clean out after each grading period

  9. Curriculum • Reader’s Handbook • Read XL • Novels, short stories, articles • FCAT 12 skills • Phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
