Earth Hour – Saturday 28th March 2011 From its debut in one city in one country in 2007 – Sydney, Australia – when 2.2 million individuals turned their lights off to take a stand against climate change, Earth Hour has become a truly global movement, embracing 128 countries and territories in 2010. 2011 marks a new phase for the initiative. The new campaign creative, 60+, will position Earth Hour 2011 as an hour of celebration where the community comes together and makes a pledge to do more to help the planet.

  14. AMCOR Fibre Packaging Facility - Sydney Amcor receives over 1,000 tonnes of paper, cardboard and linerboards per day, deliveries can be seasonal with increase in summer.

  15. AMCOR Fibre Packaging Facility - Sydney Recycled bales are inspected for quality assurance and if not compliant will be reprocessed. The above bales have been rejected.

  17. SIMS Asset Recovery - Sydney Sims Recycling Solutions dismantles a wide range of electrical and electronic products, ensuring all sensitive data is wiped to protect customer assets.

  18. SIMS Asset Recovery - Sydney There is still a manual process where components require extensive handling to achieve the highest recycling results. SIMs have a very strict global OH&S policy to minimise risk & injury.

  19. SIMS Asset Recovery - Sydney Electronic items are further inspected and classified for Asset Recovery or E-waste. E-waste is received from other Australian SIMs facilities for shredding. This is the only shredder of its kind in Australia.

Macarthur AWT produces approx 10,000 tonnes of nutrient rich organic fertilisers and composts each year.
