Challenges • Gaps in service • Morrow, Hermiston • Union outside of La Grande • Directional bias: can get to locations south but not north for work • Connections between Burns and John Day (intercity to Boise) • Uncertainty in Medicaid reimbursement • Dependence on reimbursement for local match • Difficulty planning for the coming biennium • No dedicated capital funding • STIP 15-18 $617,000 • Operators to do a fleet analysis for on going participation • Isolated communities require long distances to meet basic needs • Morrow Umatilla Planning project • Oregon Household Activity Survey March 10, 2014 PTAC

Successes Tribal Transit Facility is up and running • High quality experienced mechanic able to maintain regional fleet and train new mechanics • Beautiful example of a Transit Connect Oregon project Walla Walla MPO is up and running • Milton Freewater is transitioning • Region 5 is supporting and participating • Fleet Analysis is on the close horizon Regional Transportation Options Program is launched • CCNO is managing a person who is working closely with Union, Baker, and Wallowa transit services • Region 5 is participating in statewide TO activities and had the most per capita increase in participation Region 5 invested $617,000 STIP 15-18 in transit capital • 6 buses for 6 counties and 6 systems March 10, 2014 PTAC
