  1. Signing Up For Teachers.io Dakota Goff

  2. Step 1 • You can choose to either type “Hartselle High School” in the ‘Find your school’ box or click Sign Up at the top of the screen.

  3. If… • You chose to click the Sign Up button, type “Hartselle High School” in the ‘Find Your School’ box and click ‘Search.’

  4. Step 2 • Click on “Hartselle High School” once it comes up and it will take you to a sign up page.

  5. Step 3 • Insert the required information and click ‘Send Link.’ You will receive an email with information regarding the next few steps of the process.

  6. Step 4 Follow the instructions in the email, which will take you to a page in which you can set up one class and, if you would like, insert things such as a biography. However, one class is not all you get. The next few steps will help you with adding new classes.

  7. Adding a Class • Click the ‘Add Class’ button which will popup a screen where you can either create a class from scratch or copy a class. To make it easier, I would recommend copying a previous class if it is the same class different periods.

  8. Adding an Assignment • To add an assignment, click on ‘View Class’ underneath the class name to begin.

  9. Step 2 • Click on Assignment, which pops up a small box that enables you to put in a Due Date, Additional Information, and, if you need, an attachment such as a worksheet.

  10. Adding a Blog Post • Click ‘Start First Post’ and a new page will pop up where you can title the post, add attachments if you want, or just write what you want to tell your students or fellow teachers.

  11. Adding an Announcement • Click on Announcements at the top of the screen, then add your message into the box. After you have completed your message, choose what class you would like this announcement to go out to.

  12. Adding a Syllabus • Choose which class you would like to put the syllabus on by clicking ‘View Class.’

  13. Step 2 • Click on ‘Syllabus at the top of the screen and choose whether you would like to enter your syllabus out on the site or, if it is already made out, upload the file.

  14. If… • If you choose to enter the syllabus online, click on the option and a pop-up box will appear with a place for the heading and details. This is a section of the syllabus, such as Grading, and other sections will be made this same way.

  15. Final Teachers.io is available as a mobile app that can be used on the go. Students can use the app called myHomework to access a teachers class and follow their announcements, due dates, and blog posts. Whatever information is entered will be put into the students phone on the app and can be viewed at any time. Both the myHomework app and Teachers.io can be used without internet if a data plan is used.

  16. Students without Smartphones If a student does not have access to a smartphone, myHomework has an available website that works just like the app, allowing them to communicate with you in the same way the myHomework app does.
