  4. Background • Lincoln studied to be a lawyer • 1839 he met his wife • They were supposed to get married in 1841 • November 4, 1842 they got married • Grew his beard during his campaign • Inaugurated march 4, 1861 • 1863 gave the Gettysburg Address

  5. Conclusion • Abraham Lincoln was important to society because he was a great leader and helped abolish slavery • Being a leader and doing good things are ways to be like Lincoln
