  1. Overview of ProE Part #SE141-013 And Notes Indicating Revised Geometry D. Williamson, 7/1/03

  2. The first feature is a wireframe offset of the winding surface. The wireframe was created by offset and smoothing to remove “fold-over” problems in the inboard region. Link to winding surface geometry (ibl, igs).

  3. A surface and thin protrusion are created using the wireframe curves. Several copies of the surface are also made for later use. A preferred method for this feature is a “blend-from-file” that has curves every two deg in the toroidal direction. The surface can then be updated by replacing the referenced .ibl file. See ws_off55.ibl as an example.

  4. Next features are flanges and tee. The tee is copied from se141-013_tee.prt, and is made as a variable section sweep using two trajectory curves. The trajectory curves have been revised. The new curves are called wc3_e04 (ibl, igs) and xv3_e04 (ibl, igs).

  5. The wings are added by trimming the copied surfaces. A preferred method would be to make the “blend-from-file” surface large enough to include the wings. The surface would need to move in/out to accommodate the wings of the adjacent coils. See next slide as an example.

  6. Proposed inner surface for winding form Type-C Link to inner_surf.igs Surface offset 2-in to accommodate adjacent coil Plan View Iso View

  7. Clamp slots are created using a patterned local coordinate system that is normal to winding law (wc-curve).

  8. Modular coil to TF coil interface Dimensions are:
