  1. It’s all in the cards Levels and rules

  2. General Rules of the Game • Get into groups of 3 and decide who will be dealer, decision maker and scorekeeper for your group. • Remove all aces, kings, queens and jacks from the deck • The dealer and decision maker will play against each other • The dealer deals a card to each player; the decision maker decides who wins that hand; and the score is recorded by the scorekeeper. Play continues in this manner until all cards are dealt. • The scorekeeper declares a winner • Everyone switches roles to play again. Once everyone has assumed all three roles, the group determines the overall winner.

  3. Level 1 • Black beats red, always • Black beats Joker • Joker beats red • The same color card drawn results in a tie • Use tally marks to keep track of the number of wins for each player • After all cards are used, count the tally marks and decide who wins Rules Scoring

  4. Level 2 • Black beats red, always • Black beats Joker • Joker beats red • If both cards are black, the higher number wins • If both cards are red, the lower number wins • If the same color is dealt the same number is a tie • Use tally marks to keep track of the number of wins for each player • After all cards are used, count the tally marks and decide who wins Rules Scoring

  5. Level 3 • Black beats red, always • Black beats Joker • Joker beats red • If both cards are black, the higher number wins • If both cards are red, the lower number wins • If the same color is dealt the same number is a tie • If the cards are the same color, add the numbers, and give the points to the winner. • If the cards are different colors, subtract the numbers and give the points to the winner. • A joker has no point value • After all the cards are used, add the score to decide who wins Rules from level 2 Scoring changes

  6. Level 4 • Black beats red, always • Black beats Joker • Joker beats red • If both cards are black, the higher number wins • If both cards are red, the lower number wins • If the same color is dealt the same number is a tie • If the cards are the same color, add the numbers, and write the score with a pen of that same color. • If the cards are different colors, subtract the numbers and write the score with the pen the same color as the larger number. • Since a joker has no point value, the score is the number and color of the other card • To decide who wins, determine the scores in the same manner as was done throughout this level. Rules from level 2 Scoring changes (again)

  7. Level 5 Rules • *For this level, you will need to use the aces, kings, queens, and jacks. These cards are considered to be trap cards. • *To decide who wins, use level 2 rules • * Shuffle the trap cards and place them facedown. • *Deal two cards, placing one on each side of the trap card. • Turn the top card face up. If it is red, the card on the right switches color. If it is black, the card on the right stays the same color. • * the trap card has no effect on the joker. • *Record the score as you did in level 4 using a red and black pen. • Level 2 Rules • Black beats red, always. • Black beats Joker. • Joker beats red. • If both cards are black, the higher number wins. • If both cards are red, the lower number wins. • If the same color is dealt, the same number, it is a tie.
