Red Clay Test Security • Red Clay DeSSAGuidelines and Procedures (printed copies, available on intranet • REMINDERNEW- Each school is required to have each person receiving school training sign verification • STC or Administartor assigned to testing must scan the signed verification to Gerri Marshall, indicating all test administrators have been trained • DUE April 1, 2019

DeSSA Science- Social Studies • Entry Due Date: March 15 • Anyone who has DTC or STC level access will be able to enter the accommodations and supports. • Training course 24250 which will provide detailed steps on entry of non-embedded supports and the assignment of accommodated forms for students with specifically identified needs. • Accommodated forms • Text to Speech Universal vs Accommodated NEED HEADPHONES Appendix L in TAM UNIVERSAL ACCOMMODATION

Science - Summative Assessment • Who takes the HS Biology Assessment? • Students who are taking biology for high school graduation credit (this includes course repeaters per regulation 101 section 2.2.2) as outlined in regulation 505 section 4.1.2 Scientific investigations related to the State Science Standards shall be included in all three science course requirements. The student shall complete a Biology course as one of the Science credits. • Students taking Advanced Placement Biology who have taken a separate biology course as a pre-requisite for AP are NOT expected to take the assessment.  Students in the pre-requisite biology course should take the assessment.

Social Studies practice tests available online • Updated Social Studies practice tests include universal text to speech (for text sources) and accommodated text to speech, which includes text + graphics. • These updated practice tests are available here. • For assistance with the sample test, contact Dusty Shockley. 

  29. DeSSA Science/ Social Studies Updates • Please make sure all students are successfully loaded in PAN. If not submit a DOE Help desk ticket • Please make sure all users including test administrators have requested the DeSSA Science/Social Studies icon in IMS if they don’t currently have it on their menu • Please make sure all test administrators have the trained user flag set to “Y” • All accommodations/supports need to be entered into PAN by March 15, 2019 • Make sure all students who need accommodation test sessions have been completed • Test window: March 5 – May 30, 2019

  30. DeSSA Science/ Social Studies – PAN Updates • Make sure you are accessing correct Testing year. Top right corner in PAN, change from 2017-2018 Field Test to: • 2018-2019 Science and Social Studies Spring 2019 • User roles that can update accommodations/supports: • DTC (if individual needs access to multiple schools) • STC (access to one school only) • Both roles can still administer assessments

DeSSASci/Social Studies  - Pearson Access Next (PAN) application • All students will be rostered to test session based on the following two scenarios: • a. by school/grade/content (one session per school) • b. by Biology roster for high school. This will allow students to be readily available to be tested once the final steps to prepare the roster are completed. Please refer to the TA training and the DeSSA S/SS Test Administration Manual for additional information.

  33. Operational Report/Students with Warnings Students with Warnings • This report will provide a list of all student records, within an organization, that contain warnings. This report will assist in verifying that all necessary steps are taken to ensure proper form delivery. Student Tests with Accommodations • This report will provide detail on all students in the selected organization and their associated form assignment/registration. This report will allow to you quickly see a count of the various forms assigned to individual students (including accommodations)
