    3. 3 When talking about Toastmasters What does Toastmasters sound like to most non-Toastmasters? We just stand around and yak it up!     4. 4 CTM Speech Number 10 DONE out of here! Most Toastmasters think that after completing their first CTM that they are done with Toastmasters! Unless?

    5. 5 Along the CTM journey Long time before the morning after Help the person select their first two advance manuals, Encourage them to continue with the Toastmasters program, and Provide both direction and talk about leadership.

    6. 6 Direction and Leadership You should be a beacon of light and hope Ask the question: When do you expect to complete your CL, AL, and the DTM? The reply should never be, Say what?

    7. 7 Let the Toastmaster know that The skys the limit with leadership opportunities, Inform the Toastmaster about the CL, AL, and DTM programs Explain the benefits in terms of both personal and professional growth, Let everyone continue to climb to new heights and dreams

    8. 8 Marine Corps Leadership Principles Know yourself and seek self-improvement. Be technically and tactically proficient. Develop a sense of responsibility among your subordinates. Make sound and timely decisions. Set the example. Know your Marines and look out for their welfare.

Ensure assigned tasks are understood, supervised, and accomplished. Train your Marines as a team. Employ your command in accordance with its capabilities

    10. 10 Toastmasters Leadership Change the word Marines (Marine Corps) with the word: Toastmasters The concepts are basically the same for us in what we should be doing as District and Club Leaders. So how do we go about being Leaders within our environment? Speak about and let your members know about the: Competent Leader, Advance Leader, and Distinguished Toastmaster programs

    11. 11 The Competent Leader (CL) Achieved Competent Toastmaster award Served at least six months as a Club officer President, Vice President Education, Vice President Membership, Vice President Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, or Sergeant at Arms And while an officer participated in the preparation of a Club Success Plan While a Club officer, participated in a District sponsored Club officer training program Conducted any two programs* from The Successful Club Series and/or The Leadership Excellence Series

    12. 12 The Advanced Leader (AL) Achieved Competent Leader award Served a complete term as a District Officer Area Governor, Division Governor, Public Relations Officer, Secretary, Treasurer, Lieutenant Governor, District Governor Completed the High Performance Leadership program Served successfully as a Club Sponsor, Mentor, or Specialist

    13. 13 The Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Distinguished Toastmaster is the highest recognition a member may receive. Achieved Advanced Toastmaster Gold award Completed the Communication Track (Pages 14 15) CTM, ATM-B, ATM-S Achieved Advanced Leader award Completed the Leadership Track CTM, CL, HPL, Sponsor, or Mentor, or Coach a Club Note: the CTM listed here under both tracks is the same CTM
