Aaron Copland • Nov. 14th1900 – Dec. 2nd 1990 • Aaron was born in Brooklyn, NY. • Premier American composer who helped bring American music to the forefront. • He was also a conductor, a teacher and a writer who wrote books about music as well as his autobiography • "Copland: 1900 Through 1942" • "Copland: Since 1943.'

  6. I like this piece because… • There are calming parts and a feeling of peace rushes over me • Simple yet complex • Reminds me of my childhood when my mom would sing me lullabies • Sort of gives the message that everything will be alright
