Abb. 30.5Vergleich des tetrameren Ionenfilters im hoch-selektiven Kaliumkanal KcsA aus Streptomyces lividans (links) und dem für Natrium- wie Kaliumionen durchlässigen Kanal aus Bacillus cereus (rechts). Der selektive Kanal bildet ein Tetramer aus einem TVGYG-Motiv, im Na+/K+-Kanal ist dort TVGDG zu finden. Im unteren Teil, der durch einen Threonin- und Valinrest gebildet wird, haben beide Kanäle gleiche Geometrie. Die Rückgrat-Carbonylgruppen der folgenden Aminosäuren Gly-Tyr sind im kaliumselektiven Kanal nach innen gedreht und tragen mit zum Filter bei, während im unselektiven Kanal beide C=O-Gruppen an Gly-Asp weggedreht sind. Es öffnet sich eine Kammer, die ein Ion aufnehmen kann, aber keine Selektivitätsfilterung erreicht.
