  3. What is Relative Location? Relative locationmay be described using terms that show connections between two places such as “next to,” “near,” or “bordering.”

  4. What is the Fall Line and which two regions does it divide? Fall Line: The natural border between the Coastal Plain (Tidewater) and Piedmont Regions, where waterfalls prevent further travel on the river.

  5. What kind of land does the Coastal Plain have and where is it located? The Coastal Plainregion is flat land located near the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. It includes the Eastern Shore and it is located east of the Fall Line.

  6. What kind of land is the Piedmont Region and where is it located? The Piedmont region is rolling hills and is located west of the Fall Line.
