Project Funding Local funding sources • $75 million – Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) - capital • $14 million – Cushing Street Bridge • $11 million – Public utilities • $3.2 million – The Gadsden Company Federal funding sources • $63 million – TIGER Grant awarded Feb 2010 • New Starts “Exempt” project - received $6 million of $25 million in appropriations to date Other funding sources • $4.6 million - City of Tucson grants and other programs

What is the Modern Streetcar? • Fixed-guideway rail system • All electric power • Vehicles are ‘Made in America’ • Operates in mixed traffic • Compatible with on-street parking • Shares lanes • Safe in high pedestrian areas • Low floor with multiple doors • ADA accessible • Approximately 130 passengers per vehicle
