E-mail Account at NPS • Help Desk x1046 Ingersol Rm 151 • Ask for account, students should have one • Set up Outlook Tools-> Services-> ADD -> Microsoft Exchange Server See Help for Exchange Server Location on your machine Need these from administrator. Add ESSEX as the server location Mail Box is Baer, Wolfgang

  5. E-mail Account at NPS Backup • Mailbox to deliver mail File may need to be set up creates a *.pst file • Personal folders additional *.pst • Personal Address Book *.pab • Detailed HowTo see Outlook Help • Find *.pst and *.pab files with Windows Explorer • Backup files periodically

Set-Up HomePage • Step 0: call Todd Wyatt x2875 he will tell you to go to the following • Step 1: go to http://intranet.nps.navy.mil/Code05/New05/Web/requesting_a_new_site.htm • And fill out the request form • Step 2) The next step will be to complete the Web Author Training found at: http://intranet.nps.navy.mil/Code05/WAT/WAT.htm

Publish Web page material • Physically Connected to NPS Ethernet • MAP Drive - Bullnose\webroot$\WB_CS3505 • Connect using a different user name userame: npgs\CS3505 password: ________________ You should have permissions to read,write, delete • Site is FrontPage enabled • No FTP server available

  10. FTP From your Browser • Access material with your Browser ftp://ftp.nps.navy.mil/ Is shut due to security Search for FTP sites on the web.

FTP Client • For Unix hosted pages you still need to use an FTP client to upload web pages • Use an FTP client BasicInternetCheckout\WS_FTP.zip • For example Connect to • ftp server host name: wuarchive.wustl.edu • Host type; automatic detect • User ID; anonymous • Password: your Email • Find incoming directory • Cd pub • Drill down to you will find releases of unix software
