  2. What we do after school? • go to our hobbies: • - football • - ice-hockey • - floor ball • - Finnish baseball • - dancing • - swimming • - riding - playing instrument - acting - singing - shooting - tennis - badminton - jogging

  3. hobbies at home: • -reading • - playing computer game • - surfing on the Net • - collecting some objects • - having a sauna • - cycling • - roller skating • - jogging • - skate boarding • winter hobbies • - downhill skiing • - snow boarding - skiing - skating

  4. Ice hockey We play ice hockey in a rink which has high borders. There are 5 players and a goalkeeper on the ice. A match is shared into 3 periods. One period takes 20 minutes. The players use a stick and a puck. In Kirkkonummi we have our own team called HC Salamat.

  5. Finnish baseball • our national sport • Finland is the only country where the game is played. • two teams with ten players • the point is to get as many”home runs ” as possible • you have to pass all the three bases and run from the third to the homebase before the ball.

  6. they usually play two ”rounds” • a round includes an in and an out turn • they switch the turns after 3 ”burns” • you get burnt when the ball gets to any base before the runner

  7. the player who hits the ball tries to hit it so far that he can run to the first base. He can try to hit the ball three times. • on every base there is a ”catcher” who tries to catch the ball before the runner gets to the base

  8. Finnish sauna • The sauna is a small room or hut heated up to 80 degrees Celsius. It is used for bathing as well as for mental and physical relaxation. • we use sauna 1-2 times a week bench ”lauteet” heater ”kiuas”

  9. finally you have a shower to clean yourself • spend at least half an hour, preferably an hour or more, so that you have time enough to relax • first you have a shower and then you enter the sauna • you may adjust the air moisture by throwing water on the stones of the oven. The steam makes the room hotter • you may go back to the heat a few times, taking your time to relax and enjoy the warmth
