  5. III. My research process • I went to yahooligans.com and searched Tupac • Pictures and biography • I searched Google for “Tupac lyrics” • I then went to askjeeves.com to find the meaning of his name • I found information on a Goecities site

  6. IV. What I have learned • TUpac Amaro Shakur • Inca name, “Royal Serpent”, King Tupac Amaro was the last crowned ruler of Peru (b. 1544) • Dancer, writer, rapper, actor • His mother, Afeni, chose his name after the king who was a great man, honorable and respectable; the king also had a premature death (died young) • Five albums, five movies, in five years

  7. IV. What I have learned • Murdered by “East coast” group • Las Vegas, September 13, 1996 • P. Diddy and Notorious B.I.G. were involved(rumor) • His mother now helps to produce music Tupac recorded before his death • His penname Makaveli is believed to come from the Italian communist, Machiavelli, who had faked his death in order to fool his enemies • Many believe TUPAC lives on in his music

  8. V. What this means to me • “Changes Come on, come on, I see no changes, wake up in the morning and I ask myself is life worth living”-Tupac • I usually connect to his lyrics (see above) • My mother gave me the name Esperanza, which means hope; I also respect my mother • Tupac was very determined and achieved many things; I plan to achieve many things • I love to dance
