  5. How Rainbow Began • Founded in 1922 by Christian minister Mark Sexson • Originally for daughters of Masons and their friends • Focus was based on the teachings of faith, hope, and charity

  6. How Rainbow Has Evolved • Today there are over 850 Rainbow Assemblies worldwide. • Membership is open to girls of all religions and nationalities. • Annual statewide service projects inspire members to make a difference in the world.

  7. Rainbow Girls Get Down to Grass Roots! • Members work together, relying on their own ideas and involvement to raise funds and bring awareness to hundreds of different important organizations in the United States and Canada.

  11. Who Can Be a Rainbow Girl? • Rainbow Girls are between the ages of 11 and 20 and share • An interest in improving themselves. • An eagerness to have fun and work hard. • An open mind to different religions and cultures.

  12. Two Special Age Groups • Majority Members and Alumni – Active, vital leaders in the organization • Pledges – Eagerly waiting their turn, serving valuable support roles

  16. Three Solid Reasons to Support Rainbow Girls 1. Many high schools now require students to participate in volunteer efforts. 2. Most colleges and universities look to enroll students who have embraced a philanthropic spirit. 3. Research shows that students who volunteer are more well-rounded, are more engaged in their community, and earn better grades in school.
