How did building the wall affect the society in East and West Berlin? • It affected society because the transportation between East and West Berlin was shut down. • Many families were separated. • Some people worked in East Berlin but worked in West Berlin. • The citizens were not happy at all, some even tried to climb the wall.

  3. How did tearing down the Berlin wall affect the society? • Many people were very happy. • They quickly recreated East Berlin into a better city. • It also made East Berlin a democratic government. • Poland and Hungary soon became independent democracies after that.

  4. What problems did East and West Berlin have with each other? • West Berlin and East Berlin were enemies because the wall was built in post WWII and the East was controlled by Germany and the west by France Great Britain and the U.S.

  5. How did the citizens feel about the wall being built but then later torn down? • The citizens were very angry and many people tried to escape but the guards quickly made the wall a “modern border”. • Many people were very happy when the wall was torn down and they reconstructed Berlin very soon.

  6. Was it the governments decision to make the wall? Or the people’s? • It was the governments decision to build the wall. • They built it to separate the Soviet Union from Great Brittan, USA and France in post WWII. • The people didn’t have any say in building the wall, many families and friends were separated.
