  3. Adjective Agreement • Adjectives agree in # and gender with what they are describing. • If the noun being described is feminine, you can generally add an -e to the adjective. • If the noun being described is plural, you can generally add an s to the adjective. • If the adjective describes males AND females, always use the masculine plural form. Il est intelligent. Elle est intelligente. Nous sommes intelligents. Elles sont intelligentes Il est brun. Elle est brune. Ils sont bruns. Elles sont brunes. Il est pénible. Elle est pénible.Ils sont pénibles. Elles sont pénibles.

  5. Remember… • In the masculine forms, the final consonant sound is silent. In the feminine forms, the final consonant sound is pronounced because an e will be on the end of the word. For example: amusant/amusante petit/petite • A few adjectives don’t EVER change- they never show agreement. They are: marron orange cool
