The setting takes place in Camillo Junior High in Long island during the Vietnam war in 1967. • The book would be different if it didn’t take place in Vietnam because Mrs.Baker’shusband wouldn't have been M.I.A and Mrs.Baker wouldn’t be to harsh to her students. • It would be so different if they change the setting of the book.   4. Holling goes to Mr. Goldman's bakery for cream puffs and Mrs. Baker’s rats ate all the cream puffs.(Man vs. Society.) Conflict

  5. During 1967 school year on Wednesday afternoons when all his classmates go to either Catechism or Hebrew Church’s, seventh-grader Holling Hoodhood stays in Mrs. Baker’s classroom, where they read William Shakespeare and Holling learns much of value about the world he lives in. Summary of Plot
