The Swedish Research Council plays a leading role in developing Swedish research of the highest scientific quality, thereby contributing to society’s development. • Provides funding for and strengthens researcher-initiated basic research • Initiates research in strategically important areas • Works for an efficient research system • Advisory consultant to the Swedish government in research-related matters

  4. Distribution of forms of grants 2017 The Swedish Research Council finances just over a tenth of the research at higher education institutes. • Distributed research funding: 6 467 million SEK / 632 million EURO

  8. Support for ”young” researchers International Postdoc – two calls per year (Jan + Aug) Swedish or EUI PhD 0-2 yrs at the timeofapplication. Grant period 18-36 months. At least 2/3 abroad. Employed at a Swedish university. Invitation from hostunitversityabroad, as well as administratingorganization.

Grant period, costs and grant funding • 18-36 months. • At least 2/3 of the time must be spent abroad. • The amount is a standard amount 1 050 000 SEK/year 150 000 SEK research* 900 000 SEK salary * research expenses relating to your stay and the research you will be carrying out (such as consumables, travel including stays at research facilities, and publication costs)

  10. Whocanapply? Individual researchers with Swedish doctorates or exam from the EUI. In order to apply for an International Postdoc, your career age can not be more than two years. Deductible time can be found in the call text. The doctoral degree must have been awarded before the deadline of the call.

How do I apply? • Prisma • Create a personal account. • Some information insertedinto text fields, other PDFs • Pay attention to the CV associatedwithyouraccount • Signingofapplication by you as applicant and the official representative of the administrating organisation. Most of the required steps in the Prisma system are described in the user manual and the FAQ.
