  1. Navigating your first Project

  2. From Base Camp – click on My Education Transcript

  3. Find your Path (look for those stacked books) If first time here click If returning click

  4. Once in your curriculum launch the Project (Ice Breaker our example)

  5. Takes you to the initial Project screen, click

  6. This page in Level 1 gives you tips on how to navigate the material.

  7. Normally just click the right chevron and start. However, for this Tutorial click on this dropdown menu arrow, it opens up a “shortcut” menu to all the material

  8. The titles may vary by Project, but this “shortcut” menu is available on every page

  9. This one is for the Ice Breaker Project. While a shortcut, it is also a good roadmap as to where you are going. Like a “Table of Contents” with links to the various areas.

  10. 2 very key areas in all Projects: Assess Your Skills – Before – you do an interactive question and answer to indicate your level of knowledge prior to this Project. Assess Your Skills – After – interactive again to assess your skills after –BUT the big take away here is that this is how you COMPLETE your Project. Once you have completed this questionnaire the Path shows that project as “Completed” Common issue – some people get to the end by mistake.

  11. You keep working thru the material going to the right, however you can move back and forth with the chevrons. Left chevron Right chevron Common issue – some people cannot see the chevrons because they have their text size or screen size too large.

  12. My web browser Zoom set to 150% - no chevrons

  13. My web browser Zoom set to 100% - see chevrons

  14. Your Assignment If you are on this page in the material there is a link to a “Project Checklist” that tells you what steps to follow to complete the Project along with the purpose and overview of the Project. You can print this PDF up as a guide.

  15. For example the Project Checklist for the Ice Breaker

  16. You and Your Goals On this page of the material they have a link to a Project Speech Outline Worksheet. In the case of the Ice Breaker they have a 4 page worksheet to help Toastmasters organize their thoughts for the speech (this varies by Project). Notice they have “view” or “download” here.

  17. Complete Your Assignment This page appears to be the same for all Projects. Here it gives you the hint to complete your assignment. Also you can print a copy of the Project Checklist here (second place we saw that).

  18. Your Evaluation A very important page as it gives you access to links to all the RESOURCES for the Project.

  19. 1 – Evaluation Resource – this is the PDF file that you print and bring to meeting or email to your Evaluator to fill out when you do your speech. 2 – Print My Project – here is where you can make a paper copy of the Project educational material (the online pages minus the videos). 3 – Ice Breaker Speech Outline Worksheet – access to that 4 page guide on the Ice Breaker Project.

  20. At the scheduled meeting: Give your Evaluator the paper evaluation form or PDF file if applicable. Present your speech. Get your copy of the Evaluation (keep paper copy or you can optionally store online at Base Camp)

  21. Assess Your Skills After Once you have completed your Project’s speech assignment you go through this page to assess your skills “after.” Once you have answered all the questions it will mark your Project as COMPETED.

  22. Take time to celebrate, and then on to the next Project.
