    12. Questions for Discussion What is plan for communicating with principals and teachers the LEAs plan for the transition to the Common Core State Standards? What connections have you made to other RIDE work? Have educators been provided with information on participation of Study of the Standards and Curriculum work and what his/her role will be in that work? What is your plan to support teachers in developing a deep understanding of the standards? What tools will you use? What are the expectations for teachers Will this work be included in professional learning goals? How will you use collaborative team time (common planning time, grade level meetings, etc)?

    15. Comprehensive Assessment System Criteria & Guidance What is it? -Guidance document that describes the features and uses of a comprehensive assessment system. What is its purpose? -To establish common language and understandings -To provide guidance and tools for LEAs on developing/refining their CAS

What can I expect from RIDE? 2011-2012 -Webinar series (weekly 9.28-10.19, monthly Nov.-Jun.) -Quarterly memos to update/preview CAS initiatives 2012-2013 -Online modules for formative assessment -Interim assessment system -Data use professional development You can expect your first quarterly memo at the beginning of October through the Commissioners listserv.
