  5. What is the FLE-Tools prototype? • www-based service for computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) • On-line learning community • Collection of server-based applications and databases • Cross platform (Linux, Mac, Win PC, WebTV, Nokia 9000, etc)

  7. Personal WebTop (desktop in the www) • Virtual desktop • To store and share digital materials with other students • Fellow students - the learning team • ”Leaving” and sending messages (“stickies”) • Evaluation tool

Knowledge Building • Shared spaces for discussion / conferencing • The discussion is guided by the 'Deep Principles' • Students are asked to label the discussion notes with different 'Categories of Inquiry', such as: My Working Theory Problem Deepening Knowledge Help Comment Summary Meta Comment

  10. Library • Space to publish and browse multimedia learning materials • The tutor or teacher may search ”clips” from the FLE-Library’s database • The tutor may choose relevant clips and publish them for the course • Also the work of the study groups will be saved to the FLE-database
