2. Setting The setting is where your story takes place. The best settings use many descriptive words. White plains of Africa In the deepest part of the jungle in India In the icy depths of the Atlantic Ocean In the silent, newly laid snow, evergreens heavily laden with snow, sat precariously on the steep mountainside.

3. Characters The qualities and physical characteristics of a person that distinguishes them from everyone else. Shrek, a large green ogre, with a Scottish accent who loves peace & lives in a swamp. He has a sign in the swamp that says, Beware of the ogre,” to discourage attacking villagers. His father tried to eat him once as Shrek stated, "I should have seen it coming. He used to bathe me in barbecue sauce and put me to bed with an apple in my mouth".

4. Characters • Giraffewas a quiet, timid, animal with long legs and a small neck. He could reach up high to get the most delicious leaves to eat but he had a hard time bending over to get a drink, because his neck was too short. • Cinderella was a lovely maiden, with hair as beautiful as spun gold, and a personality to match. All of the animals in the castle adored her because she was so kind. If it wasn’t for her evil step mother and sisters Cinderella would be truly happy.

5. Plot Plot is the series of events or problems that give a story its meaning. A plot is made up of many problems and solutions. For example, in Shrek we begin the story with a bunch of fairy tail people being forced into Shrek’s swamp by the evil Lord Farquaad, who is obsessed by many things, including having a perfectly clean and normal realm. Solution: Shrek decides to travel the country to see Farquaad to try and get his privacy back with his friend Donkey tagging along. Shrek ends up going to save the princess from a dragon.
