  3. What Soothes Lori. • The warmth, the Noise and the vibration from the blow dryer. • Lori considers : the voltage, wattage, and if she can adjust the heat of the blow dryer. • It Makes her Feel comforting ,Secure and Happy. www.xltphoto.net

Concerns about loris addiction • Her daughter is starting to become addicted as well. • She has had blisters from getting burnt at night • There has been cases where a house has been burnt down because of this addiction. Both the addict and his daughter where killed. • Lori Has had marital issues and is currently divorced due to the addiction. • High electricity Bills result of this. www.right-turn.org

  5. Other Cases.. • One Man and his daughter weren't Burnt Down in there house because of the misuse of the blow dryer while sleeping . • A 7 month old baby couldn’t sleep without the blow-dryer. If there wasn’t a blow dryer running the baby would be very fussy and start crying. • A Woman was prosecuted for leaving a blow dryer on to sooth her baby to sleep and to keep her warm. The baby died because of the temperature that the blow dryer arouse to which was 108 degrees.

  6. Theories as to why loris addicted to the blow dryer. • Operant Conditioning: Lori used a blow dryer to stay warm and enjoyed the soothing feeling that she got when she was 8. She is likely as in her case to use the blow dryer again . • For instance the blow dryer was reinforcing causing her to Increase In this behavior. • Just as people twirl there hair to relieve day to day stress or suck there thumb Lori blow dries her hair. • It’s a psychological soother. • She claimed: “It’s a comfort thing, it’s a security thing, it’s the noise, it’s the air, it’s all-encompassing”.

  7. Lori Now. • She has Quit her addiction of blow drying her self. • Instead she uses a heater • She is currently trying to beat the addiction of heat . • Her daughter no longer uses the blow dryer.
