Systemic lupus erythematosus or SLE • Can be known in Latin as ‘wolf’ because the first victim though it was a wolf bite and once swollen leaves a bite imprint. • Causes • There is no real cause but there are environmental causes • i.e. Genetics • Environmental triggers • Drug reactions • Usually is a inflammation of body part.

  3. Symptoms • SLE can effect almost any part of they body. • From Cardiac to Reproductive • To Renal and Neurological, SLE can be found • Mostly harms heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys, and nervous system. • Known as the ‘Great Imitator’ because it can be mistaken for other illnesses.

  4. Can it be treated • The treatment of SLE involves preventing flares and reducing their severity and duration when they occur. • Treatment can include corticosteroids and anti-malarial drugs • There is no known cure.

  5. Conclusion! Lupus cannot be prevented, but the consequences can be prevented. Can effect any part of the body but mostly Heart, Joints, and Skin It cant be treated to control the seriousness of the disease.
