  1. PRESENTATION NAME Introduction (AKA Phase One) GETTING TO KNOW YOUR POET Go ahead. Take a chance! Read through this slide presentation first, then start your research! STATE STANDARD 12.4.7= Develop presentations using clear research questions and creative and critical research strategies such as using Internet sources.

  2. FIRST TASK First , chose a poet to research. Look for biographical information, years of events, family issues, work issues, and the poet’s writing craft issues, like awards, rewards, better jobs, etc. Be sure to keep good notes on this information. Don’t forget to document your source information. Second, be ready to share your notes on the third day with other students .

  3. STOP!Did you know that there is one poet who you are not allowed to research? Click on the movie reel below to find out which one.

  4. REMINDERS! Notes! Look familiar? Click on the picture to refresh your memory! When you are taking your notes about your poet and the world events at that time, please document the websites and take this information through EasyBib.com before you leave that website! These are resources that should be styled in Easybib and included on the Resource page. Hint: If you copy the URL (web address), you can paste it into Easybib for a no-fuss citation for your Works Cited page! But do this first!!!!

  5. Final Product Click Timeline to find out how to make a timeline on your poet’s life and world events. Once you have taken your notes, organize them into consecutive years. Then separate the poet’s life events from the world events, while maintaining the order of earliest years to the later years of the poet’s life. Your ultimate goal is to develop a timeline slightly different from the picture shown. Remember that the poet’s life and the world events should be on opposite sides of the paper.

  6. REFLECTION Reflection is thinking back over a project and critiquing it: what’s good or bad about it and why. Now click on the keyboard to find a place to write out your reflection for an evaluation.
