IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade A few features users can look forward to in the New Look include: • A unified visual presentation that provides consistency across solutions. • Strategic use of colors to effectively segment information and improve user pattern recognition. • New branded color palette to improve aesthetics. • Redesigned launch icons for solutions.

  4. IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade • There is a new Icon Structure to launch the Cerner applications : The shape denotes the application type, the color denotes the solution (Powerchart vs. Surginet, etc) and the imagery inside the icon denotes the function of the application.

  6. IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade • Once a chart has been opened, and then another opened, the first chart changes to “dark blue” appearing to recede into the background matching the color of the framework. The opened chart will be the only brightly colored chart to indicate which patient is active.

  7. IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade The Demographic Banner is now more distinct from the clinical data within the chart. To increase patient safety, the new scheme provides a clear variation in color when simultaneously viewing multiple patient charts.

  8. IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade • The Patient Search and Refresh icons are now monochromatic to help de-clutter the workspace. • The binocular icon for search has now been changed to the magnifying glass.

  9. IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade • Visual enhancements have been made to the structured documentation section of PowerNote. • Selected items will now show circled in light blue and the text will show bold. Negatives will be indicated by a red slash.

IMPACT 2012 Code Upgrade • There are a lot of cosmetic changes that will be noticed immediately after the 2012 upgrade. • This upgrade is required as a framework for many mandatory initiatives going forward such as ICD-10 and Stage II Meaningful Use. • This upgrade will also allow us to take advantage of some other enhancements such as pictures within PowerNotes and in the Banner Bar, improved printing capabilities and greater customization of summary views by individual users. • The initial focus is to upgrade functionality already in use. In subsequent months new functionality will be evaluated and recommendations made for which new features to utilize.
