  9. Faculty Extension Activities • The Department is offering free coaching for M.Sc. Entrance. • The students are motivated to take part in the competitive examinations at State, National level and also NET examination of CSIR.

Swathi (II M.Sc) and M.D.S.Rani (II M.Sc) got special prize in paper • presentation competition conducted by Vignan Degree College ,Guntur on • 9th and 10th Dec-2011. • B. Vimala (Ii M.Sc) got 2nd Prize in laboratory skills competition conducted • by Vignan Degree College ,Guntur on 9th and 10th Dec-2011. • P. Sunitha (II M.SC) got 3rd Prize in poster presentation competitions • conducted by JKC College ,Guntur on 19th Dec-2011.

Staff Achievements • Papers published - 07 • “Analysis of protein content and types of aminoacids present in the cerebro spinal fluid of various diseased patients” was published in Pharmanest journal in Nov-2010. • “Development and validation method for quantification of NEBEVOLOL in formulation analysis by using RP – HPLC” was published in IJRPC in March 2011. • “Development and validation method for quantification of ANASTRAZOLE in formulation analysis by using RP – HPLC” was published in IJRRPAS in June 2011. • “Development and validation method for quantification of CABERGOLINE in formulation analysis by using RP – HPLC” was published in IJPI’S Journal of Analytical Chemistry in Nov - 2011. • “A Novel RP-HPLC method for the Quantification of Celecoxib in Formulations” published in RJPBCS in Jan-2012. • “OxoParviflorin, A phenanthropyrone from vandaparviflora” published in Asian research journal of chemistry in Apr-2011. • “RPHPLC Method Development and Validation for Simultaneous Estimation Dextromethorphn and Quindine” in JPR Vol.5, Issue 8 , pp. 4212 – 4215 on Aug. 2012

Krishnaveni, Lecturer in M.Sc Chemistry published an article “Simultaneous Determination Of Famotidine And Ibuprofen In Combined Pharmaceutical Dosage Form By Rp-HplcMethod”inInternational Journal of Pharma and Biosciences, 2013 July; 4(3): (P) 655 – 662. • G. Krishnaveni, Lecturer in M.Sc Chemistry, delivered a guest lecture on “ Heterocyclic Compounds” in Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada on 5th August 2013. • Mr. M. Siva kishore, Lecturer in M.Sc Chemistry, awarded M.Phil in the month of September 2013 on “Sensitive Visible Spectrophotometric Methods For The Assay Of Selected Drugs In Pure And Tablet Formulations”.

Sailaja, Lecturers in Chemistry presented a paper on “Green Solvent and Ionic Liquids: Formulating for the Sustainable Future” in UGC Sponsored National workshop on “Green Chemistry, Its Need and Role In Our Society” Organized by Department of Chemistry, Dharma Apparao College, Nuzvid on 10th and 11th February, 2014. • G. Krishnaveni, Lecturer in M.Sc Chemistry published an article “Method Development and Validation for Simultaneous Determination of Ezetimibe and Simvastatin in Combined Pharmaceutical Dosage form by RP-HPLC” in International Journal of Pharmaceutical and life sciences, Volume 2, Issue 2, March 2013. • G. Krishnaveni, O. Sailaja, Lecturers in M.Sc Chemistry were participated in the seminar on the “Role of Chemistry in Drug Discovery” organised by Krishna University and Royal Society of Chemistry(London)-DS, held at Siddhartha Academy, Vijayawada on 6th July 2013.

  30. PG. Department of Chemistry has conducted a State Level Workshop “Chemistry and Career Prospects” for Chemistry Stream on 30th November 2013. • In this Workshop 200 Degree Final year students were participated from various degree colleges around the Krishna university, Nagarjuna University and Andhra University area. This workshop was inaugurated by Prof. M.V. BasaveswaraRao, FRSC, Special Officer, Krishna University PG. Centre, Nuzvid and he said about the importance of chemistry and the opportunities available for Post graduates in Chemistry. As a part of this Workshop three sessions were conducted.

  31. Second session lead by Dr. B. Jaganmohan Reddy, Head, Department of Chemistry, AdikaviNannaya University, Rajahmundry. In this session he delivered a lecture on “Streams in Chemistry” The last session lead by Mr. N.V.S.S. Raman, Vice president, Hetero Drugs, Hyderabad. In this session his speech was about the Career prospects for Graduates in Chemistry.

Future Prospects • Department is going to conduct more seminars to promote individual study and presentation capabilities. • Department thrust on conducting more Industrial tours and support the students to expose themselves to latest industrial practices. • The department intend to extend the certificate courses by enhancing features for the next academic years
