  7. Nick Christy • Studied the ways in which different curriculum development groups deal with design, editing, orders, fulfillment, and shipping. • Got a job before he could complete his work and make recommendations.

  8. Luis Ferreira • Studied “Program Support”, the mechanism by which we tax revenue accounts and grants to pay for the administrative services they rely on. • Made recommendations for improvement, proposal to execute the work. • The Service Task Force, chaired by Flori Ramos, has begun to interview providers & consumers of services.

  9. Alfredo Finch • Studied repurposing Hall artwork to make products that could be sold in our store and in other venues (t-shirts, hats, etc.) • Concluded that we would have to have a higher sales volume at the Discovery Corner Store to realize a profit and/or would need to dedicate a position to open up new distribution channels.

  10. Cristina Higgins • Studied our opportunities for staff development. • Made recommendations that will be shared with our new Human Resources Manager when we get one. • Gave me a book on leadership that I have been reading.

  11. 14. Campus Reviews • HR review by Manny Pereira and Mary Zeno completed in October ‘03; some recommendations implemented and others will go to new HR manager once on board. • Financial audit by campus concluded in December ‘03; some recommendations implemented and others will be done by June 30th.

  15. Staff Round Table in Oct ‘03 • Encourage more collaboration across programs and divisions • Improve communication--more open, frequent, and inclusive. • Move from a culture of complaint to a culture of service; increase support, cooperation, and civility. • Survey staff for their opinions.

  16. First Staff Survey Results • Questions about anonymity for the second survey; want candor! • Rena will show us how we see the data (then you may want to revise your survey) and give us a walk-through of the results • Then we will have an open Q&A.

  17. LHS Equity Committee • Day-long retreat to plan next steps • Committee members from throughout LHS • Collecting data on who we are and who we serve • Next steps: thoughtful organizational plan
