During 2009-2010, room 206 in the Education Building was redesigned by the CEPS Technology Committee The purpose was to building a new style of classroom that did two things • Allowed for more collaboration • Incorporated new, cutting edge technologies Focus groups and surveys were recently used to assess the room’s usage and effectiveness

  4. Benefits? Group work Hands on experience Working with and not for the professor Technology present See screens from all angles More professional and better atmosphere

  5. Drawbacks? Distractions Space issues Seeing the professor and professor seeing you Noise level Lack of 1:1 student to laptop ratio Professors not being able to fully use technology

  6. Likes? Ability to interact w/ professor and other students Ease of information access Feel more comfortable with tech in real-world

  7. Dislikes? No coffee Less opportunity to slack off

  8. How to Improve? Teaching from the middle More laptops Tech training for students

  9. Room Tech Professors using it every class, most of class Students using it very frequently Most used, but to various degrees Computers, Smart Board, Red Cat frequently DVD player, document camera less often
