  2. What’s the difference between a meteor, meteorite, and a meteoroid A meteor is called such when it’s in Earth’s atmosphere. A meteorite is a meteor when it is on the ground. A meteoroid is a meteor when it is in space.

  3. Where do meteors come from? Most meteoroids are pieces of asteroids or planets. After the Big Bang a mars sized meteoroid hit the Earth, and caused the moon. Ice meteoroids come from comets.

  4. Heat of meteoroids Meteoroids can get as hot as 1,000 – 2,000 Kelvin. 1 Kelvin is 1.8 degrees degrees F The hottest meteoroid is 1,832 - 3,632 degrees F.

  5. Manned or Unmanned • Our spacecraft is manned because we will travel in it.

  6. Location • Our location is the solar system where we will be traveling is 141 miles west of Earth. We will need to avoid comets or other meteoroids.

  7. Life cycle of a meteor • First, it starts out as a comet or asteroid. Another asteroid collides it or the comet breaks and gathers dust. Then, it is a meteoroid. Next, it is a meteor when it is in the sky. Last, it is a meteorite when it hits the ground.

  8. Atmosphere • There is no atmosphere on a meteroid.

  9. Size • The size of a meteoroid has to be less than 10 meters in diameter or it is considered a comet or an asteroid. We will not orbit the meteoroid because it is too small to circle.

  10. Surface Composition • The surface is rough because meteoroids are made out of rock or metal.

  11. Ice Meteoroids • Ice meteoroids come from comets. They are made out of ice.

  13. About our space craft • Our spacecraft is made out of metal, which is made to keep the cool in so we will not burn to the crisp. We have rocket boosters to propel into space . There is a rocket booster on the bottom to make us go up into space . there is a storage to keep the food for the journey.

  14. Purpose/mission • We will gather as much photos as we can of meteoroids.
