  2. Define Safety? Free from accidents.

  3. What is an accident? When you are doing everything you are suppose to do and something still happens.

  4. What does the Safety Color Yellow Mean? Yellow, like the amber traffic light, means be cautious/careful. It is used to identify stationary machines.

  5. The three components of a fire triangle? SPARK FUEL OXYGEN

  6. What is the first thing you should do when injured in the shop? Tell the teacher.

  7. When should you wear your safety glasses? ALL OF THE TIME.

  8. What class would a Paper, Trash or Wood be? Class A

  9. What class would a flammable liquid be? CLASS B

  10. A Class C Fire is? Electrical

  11. What is the best fire extinguisher? ABC

  12. Explain how to put out a fire with a ABC/dry chemical fire extinguisher. Stand six to ten feet away, point at the base of the fire moving in with a sweeping motion.

  13. What kind of footwear should be worn in the shop? Shoes that cover up your toes.

  14. When would you wear gloves in the shop? When Welding Chemical Use

  15. Why is it important to keep the shop clean? To prevent accidents and to do accurate inventory.

  16. When you cut your finger, how should you stop the bleeding? Apply pressure to it and use soap and water to clean it out.

  17. Who should clean your work area in the shop? The person working at the area.

  18. Describe proper shop clothing. No baggy clothing, sleeves rolled up, shoes that cover up your feet, and long pants.

  19. What should be done with a tool that needs to be repaired ? Don’t use it and take it to the teacher.

  20. How should you lift heavy objects? Bend your knees and use your legs to pick up the object.

  21. Why is it important to clamp your work ? So you will have both hands free to hold on to the equipment.

  22. If you have not been taught how to operate a tool? You should not use it.

  23. General Shop Safety Rules. Avoid Horse playing in the shop. No loiter in the shop. Wear safety glasses at all times. Keep your area clean. Keep chemicals stored safely. In the original container. In an area that can be locked. Always read the label.
