Diges Association Information about the Association members • Which sector does the Association represent? • SMEs in the creative industries • How many paid up members belong to the association? • 3 associations founded Diges and are the members • How many private sector companies are members of the Association or of the Member Associations members? • The member associations have approximately 113 (Satu) and 30 (Mindtrek) members • How many of the members above re-use Public Sector Information? • We are gathering information

Diges Association • Does the Association run an award scheme that identifies PSI Re-users? • No, not as such, but we are planning on a program with Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) • Does the Association have case studies available about PSI Re-use? • We are gathering them

  4. Diges Association Information about the Associations policy on PSI re-use • Does the Association have a written policy with respect to PSI Re-use? • We have a mandate from the Ministry of Industry and Trade • Is the policy published and publicly available online? • The core of the policy

Diges Association • If not publicly available please outline the policy. • We have received funds for investigating into the opportunities that PSI provides for SMEs • Our point of view is that of a re-user • We have formed a national PSI-group with members from ministries, PSI holders and re-users • Our aim is to gather a group of SMEs in the creative industries together and apply for a program at Tekes (Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) • We provide guidance to SMEs regarding PSI • We participate in the discussion about PSI legislation, pricing and governing

Diges Association Information about the Associations actions on PSI re-use • Since 1st July 2005 - what actions has the Association taken with respect to the re-use of PSI? • Refer to previous slide • Has the Association held any meetings of its members dedicated to the re-use of PSI? • We are holding the national meeting • We have met with the national PSI group once • We are collecting case studies about difficulties re-users encounter • Has the Association lobbied politicians on PSI re-use? • Yes, we are starting to • Has the Association lobbied government Ministries on PSI Re-use? • Yes and they are actively participating in the PSI group

Diges Association • Has the Association lobbied other people or bodies other than the above? • Yes, other organizations and SMEs • If YES to the Association has lobbied - what has the Association lobbied on or about? • about what PSI is and how SMEs can benefit from it • In the view of the Association has the lobbying been successful? • We have the ministries talking to each other and willing to look for solutions • SMEs are interested, but PSI is viewed complicated and there is not much awareness

Diges Association Information about the concerns of the Associations members on PSI re-use • What are the issues/concerns of the Associations members with respect to PSI re-use? • Lack of awareness • Lack of guidance • Lack of clear rules (legislation, pricing, competition policy with PSIH) • What do the members expect the Association to do about the above mentioned issues? • Create awareness and provide guidance, participate in discussions • Has the Association taken action to address these issues? • Yes, in the PSI group meetings and meetings with individual ministries • Is the Association aware of any complaints/court cases on PSI re-use that involve the Associations Members or their Members? • Yes, Foreca (weather information)
