1. Meaty Fates: Mechanics Meaty Fates is a top down 8 directional movement arcade style Action/Adventure game. At the beginning of each level the player will choose to be either Gaz or Gir. Gaz and Gir are competing with each other to collect samples of their sibling/master’s DNA, which can be found all over the city. Along with the DNA samples, Gaz and Gir must find various machine parts that Dib and Zim need to combine the DNA samples into a viable DNA source that will remove the Boloney DNA from their bodies. At the end of each level the player must assemble their DNA samples via a puzzle type mini-game. Interstate Interactive

2. Meaty Fates: Mechanics Player – Gaz: Gaz is Dib’s little sister and has the following abilities, weaknesses, and weapons. Beneficial: Baseball bat – Melee Weapon Game Slave – Unleashes Vampire Pigs for an “Area of Effect” attack Soda Can – Blast enemies in front of her as a “Directional”, and “Knock Back” attack Hover Helmet – Allows Gaz to fly Pizza Slices – Eating a pizza slice will regenerate Gaz’s health and give her a temporary speed boost. Hindrance (objects planted by Gir to sabotage Gaz): Portable Speaker – Little speakers with a recording of Dib’s voice yelling at Gaz – this will cause Gaz to move at half speed while in its effected area. Empty Pizza Box – Player will loose control of Gaz when she sees a pizza box. Gaz will run over to the box, pick it up, get mad that it is empty, and will then run in random directions for 5 seconds. Game Slave Replica – The game slave replica will trap Gaz inside it until she can beat the replica’s game. This prevents the player from playing for 10 seconds. (Player watches Gaz play the game as a cutscene)

3. Meaty Fates: Mechanics Player – Gir: Gir is Zim’s robot slave and has the following abilities, weaknesses, and weapons. Beneficial: Wrench – Melee Weapon Pigs – Gir’s head opens up and fires a large number of pigs in the air, which rains down on the enemies as an “Area of Effect” attack Waffles – Gir’s chest opens up and he throws waffles as a “Directional”, and “Knock Back” attack Rocket Feet – Gir uses the rockets in his feet to fly Cup Cakes – Eating a cup cake will regenerate Gir’s health and give him a temporary speed boost Hindrance (Objects that Gaz can use to sabotage Gir): Magnet – A magnet is placed on the ground that makes Gir move at half speed Crazy Taco Hat – When Gir sees the taco hat he runs to it, puts it on, and runs around in random directions yelling “Taco’s!” for 5 seconds. Bacon Soap Kit – When Gir sees this kit he can not resist the urge to run to it and start making the soap, which keeps the player from doing anything for 10 seconds. (Player watches a cutscene of Gir making the bacon soap, at the end he holds it up like a trophy and yells “I made it myself!”).

4. Meaty Fates: Mechanics DNA Sequencing: At the end of each level, the player must assemble the DNA sequence via a puzzle mini game. This puzzle will be a timed “Match 3” puzzle game, similar to “Bejeweled”. The more matches the player get’s the higher “quality” the DNA sequence will be. The higher the quality, the greater chance that it will work in the end of the game. ( Quality will determine the ending; good, better, best). The Research for these mechanics: The Research for these mechanics: To conduct this research, I have watched the entire first season of Invader Zim. I have played several top down 8 directional games, and platform arcade type games, like Diablo (PC), World of Warcraft (PC), The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (PS2), and Family Guy(PS2).

5. Meaty Fates: Leveling Level Progression in this game will be “Gadget Based”. As the player plays through the game, the player will earn “Style Points” based on how they progress through the game. These Style Points can be used to upgrade the items that Gaz and Gir use during gameplay Interstate Interactive

Meaty Fates: Leveling • Gaz item progression • Baseball bat • Repaired Bat: This bat has be broken in half and tapped back together. • Wooden Bat: A normal wooden bat with pictures of Dib and Zim on it, so Gaz can feel her vengeance with every swing. • Metal Bat: Her bat has been given an armor plating for maximum damage • Game Slave • Game Slave 1: Summons a Vampire Pig that will fly around and swoop down over an area, causing damage to all enemies in that area. • Game Slave 2: Summons 5 Vampire Pigs and that fly around lifting enemies up and dropping them causing damage to all enemies in the area • Game Slave Ultimate: Summons the head Vampire Pig that opens the ground under an area, and a horde of his pig minions come from the cracks dragging enemies down into the abyss, then spits them out before closing • Soda Can • 12oz Can: Sprays ¼ screen in front of Gaz, knocking enemy back to ½ screen distance from her, doing little damage • 20oz Bottle: Sprays ½ screen in front of Gaz, knocking enemy back to full screen distance from her, doing average damage • 2 Liter Bottle: Sprays full screen in front of Gaz, knocking enemies off screen, and doing maximum damage

Meaty Fates: Leveling • Gir item progression • Wrench (inches refers to nut size, not its length) • 2” Wrench: A small wrench that does little damage • 4” Wrench: A large wrench that does average damage • 8” Wrench: A huge wrench that does maximum damage • Pigs • Stuffed Pigs: Small stuffed pigs that rain from the sky causing little damage • Live Pigs: Much larger, and heavier, pigs that rain down average damage on the enemies • Genetically Mutated Pigs: Small green pigs that exploded on impact for maximum damage to enemies • Waffles • Waffle Frisbee: A single waffle is thrown from Gir’s chest like a Frisbee; it covers ¼ screen and knocks all enemies in front of Gir back to ½ screen • Waffle Shurikens: Three Waffles are flung from Gir’s chest that covers ½ screen in front of Gir and knocks back the enemy to full screen • Wafflegeddon: A continue stream of waffles flies from Gir’s chest, it covers full screen and knocks all enemies in front of Gir off screen
