  3. What is “Revolution”? • It comes from Latin word “revolutio” which means “turn around.” 2. It is a BIG change that happens in a short period of time.

  4. Types of Revolutions! • Religious Revolutions • Political Revolutions • Technological Revolutions • Cultural Revolutions

  5. Religious Revolution • Religious Revolution – A major change in the religion Example – The Reformation (Martin Luther)

  6. Political Revolutions • Political Revolution : A change in government – the current government is replaced Examples: 1. The French Revolution 2. The Russian Revolution 3. The American Revolution

  7. Technological Revolution Technological Revolution = A sweeping change in the way goods are produced, distributed, and consumed Example: • The Industrial Revolution

  8. Cultural Revolution • Cultural Revolution -Fundamental changes in the way people act in society 2. A big change in the social rules of society and what counts as acceptable behavior. • Examples: • The Green Revolution • The French Revolution • 1960’s Cultural Revolution
