2. Rachel • Name : Rachel Rosen • Age : 18 • Status : ANDROID (Nexus-6) made by the Rosen Association. • Purpose : to interfere in the bounty hunters’ work. • Author’s purpose : to show how some androids have human emotions - emphasises the difficulties in telling the difference between them.

Pris • Name : Pris Stratton • Age : UNKNOWN • Status : ANDROID (Nexus-6) made by the Rosen Association. • Purpose : to help the Rosen Association discover the faults in their androids to help improve their next model (in order to make them undistinguishable) • Author’s Purpose : to emphasise the difference between Pris and Rachel to show that some androids have human reactions while others have andorid reactions.

4. Rachel’s 1st Key Scene Chapter 5 Rachel’s Voigt Kampff Test In this scene, Rachel almost fools the special android test. ‘“Oh god,” Rachel said, “That’s awful!” The gauges, however, did not respond. Formally, a correct response. But simulated.’

5. Rachel’s 2nd Key Scene Chapter 16 Rachel sleeps with Rick In this scene, Rachel offers to help rick with the remaining androids if he sleeps with her. “Would Rachel really do it? Evidently. Androids thought and functioned that way. Yet he had never come across anything quite like this.”

6. Rachel’s 3rd Key Scene Chapter 20 Rachel kills the goat. In this scene, Rachel pushes Rick’s goat off the roof because he carries on with his bounty hunting after sleeping with her. “And she made no effort to keep us from seeing her. As if she didn’t care.” “No, she didn’t care,” Rick said. “Rachel wouldn’t give a damn if you saw her; she probably wanted you to, so i’d know who had done it.”

7. Pris’ 1st Key Scene Chapter 6 Pris moves into Isidore’s apartment block. In this scene, the author uses Pris to contrast with Isidore and to help us see the main differences between humans and androids. “Now that her initial fear had diminished, something else had begun to emerge from her. Something more strange. And, he thought, deplorable. A coldness.”

8. Pris’ 2nd Key Scene Chapter 14 Pris discovers that she is one of the last remaining androids. In this scene, Roy and Irmgard Baty turn up at Isidore’s and tell Pris that everyone else has been killed and that Rick is after her. Her reaction is very important to the theme of what makes us human. “Except, perhaps, Pris; certainly she was radically frightened. Pris seemed almost right, almost natural.”

9. Pris’ 3rd Key Scene Chapter 18 Pris and the spider In this scene, Isidore finds a spider and Pris mutilates it. “Pris clipped off another leg, restraining the spider with the edge of her hand. She was smiling.”
