Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) • What are Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways? • IAPPS are partnerships between non-commercial research active organisations and large/ small enterprises, based on a common research project and aiming to increase knowledge transfer between the two sectors. • Who can apply? • Proposals must include as a minimum one organisation from each sector established in at least two different Member States or Associated Countries. • Which research topics are supported? • Research fields are chosen freely by the applicants (except areas of research covered by the EURATOM Treaty).

What does the funding cover? • Support will be provided for: • Exchange of know-how and experience through inter-sector secondments of research staff of the participants; • Research and Networking activities • In addition • Recruitment of experienced researchers from outside the partnership, for involvement in transfer of knowledge and /or training or researchers; • For SMEs only: research equipment on a duly justified basis.

The KEY facts • Three teams: • QMUL (UK) • CNRS (France) • PolyIntel (France) • Total of 60 manmonths of staff secondment • QMUL sends 3 ESRs to PI for a total of 24 months • CNRS sends 4 ESRs to PI for a total of 24 months • PI sends 4 ERs to QMUL and CNRS for a total of 12 months • Total of 60 manmonths of newly recruited staff • 24 manmonths to QMUL • 24 manmonths to CNRS • 12 manmonths to PI

  6. WHY??? • Freedom to carry out research on the topic of your choice • Good support for research: 1800 euros/manmonth • Increased transfer of knowledge/impact • Good opportunities for raising international profile.
